Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information joe-tippens-protocol.com collects, why, and the choices you have. Last updated: November 6, 2026.
Summary
We run this site as a small, independent publishing project. We collect basic technical data (server logs, anonymized analytics) to keep the site working and to understand which articles are read. We display advertising through Google AdSense, which uses cookies as described below. We do not sell your personal information, and we never publish or share health questions sent to us.
Information we collect directly
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider records your IP address, browser type, referring page, and the time of each request. Logs are used for security, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention, and are retained for up to 90 days.
- Analytics. We use a cookieless, aggregate analytics tool (self-hosted Plausible) to count page views, and Google Analytics (GA4), which sets first-party cookies to measure usage. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings without affecting access to the site.
- Email you send us. If you write to contact@joe-tippens-protocol.com, we keep your message and address only as long as needed to handle your request. We do not add readers to marketing lists, and we do not share correspondence.
We do not ask for, and do not want, health information about you. Please do not send medical records, scans, or detailed health histories by email.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file a website or its partners store in your browser. We use cookies in two ways: essential/site-preference cookies that make the site function, and — subject to your consent where required — advertising cookies set by third-party vendors as described below. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings; blocking all cookies may break some site features.
Advertising and third-party cookies (Google AdSense)
This site displays ads served by Google and other third-party vendors.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland can manage choices through YourAdChoices and national industry opt-out pages.
- For details on how Google uses data when you use sites that display its ads, see “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services”.
Consent for visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland
If you visit from the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, a consent banner powered by a Google-certified Consent Management Platform (CMP) is shown before advertising cookies are set. You can accept, reject, or customize your choices, and you can change them at any time via the “Privacy / Cookie settings” link in the site footer. We do not serve personalized ads to these visitors unless they have consented.
Your rights
GDPR (EEA/UK). You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
CCPA/CPRA (California). We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law. California residents may still opt out of targeted advertising via the links above and may request disclosure or deletion of personal information by emailing us.
To exercise any right, email contact@joe-tippens-protocol.com. We respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is written for adults dealing with serious illness. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK), and we do not knowingly collect data from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
Security and international transfers
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data we hold. Our service providers (hosting, analytics, advertising) may process data in the United States and other countries under their own safeguards and, where applicable, standard contractual clauses.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy materially, we update the date above and, for significant changes, add a notice on the homepage for 30 days.
